So, a few years ago I had a no start,( 2000 J30, 340k mi) after almost redoing the entire upper end and timing assembly, found out it was the chip in the ecu not reading the key chip. So I pulled out that chip and car's been awesome ever since. Problem is the cel stays on and I cannot find a bypass chip anywhere! Used to be a place called DEI, I think, but they're no longer around. Anyone know of where I can possibly get one? I'd really like to be abke to pull codes again! Thanks in advance guys

If that doesn't work out, you could aways pull an ECU from a J30 car in a salvage yard and have everything reprogrammed.

Two of my biggest problems! No salvage yards remotely close, and no Honda dealers either! Would I be able to do that myself, like with a Hondata set up or something?

Some salvage yards, like CoPart, ship their parts out so that could be an option. I guess you could try Ebay for an ECU as well, probably cheap on there.

There is definitely a way to program things on your own, however I do not know what equipment that would be or what it entails. But if you search here and elsewhere on the interwebz I'm sure you could find out what would be needed to work through that.
