If you want rear speakers, just get them, don't let other people try to convince you otherwise. I've disconnected my rears accouple of times in various cars, with various speakers and i've just never been happy with it. There is some science to only running front speakers but in the end it's preference really.

As for an amp, just get two if you plan to amp all your speakers (which i definately recommend). There is accouple reasons why i prefer this. First, you have far more options. With a 5 or 6 channel amp, there is always a comprimise. You have much more flexibility with two amps. You arn't limited to an amp that might have enough power for your speakers but not for your sub, etc. Also, if you amp fails, you only have to replace one. Lastly, if you change speakers or subs especially, you don't need to redo your whole system, just the components that need to be upgraded. So with subs, something that handles 150 watts rms might be cool for awhile, but latter you might want to get something that is double, or triple that. I've always gone with mulitple amps, i think it's defienatly the way to go.

well until eD comes out with their nine.5 (which is supposed to be something like 150x4@4ohms and 600x1@4ohms) I agree that multiple amps is a lot better, like I said I like to have headroom so once I buy an amp I don't have to replace it later if I want more power. that's why I have a nine.1 running my sub when I'm only running it at 4ohms (which is 450wrms vs. the 1500wrms its capable of).

but like I said before, the differences in output aren't as much as most people think either, especially if the sub is pretty efficient and can get loud right off the bat and doesn't need to run at its thermal rating to sound good.

i have my rear speakers connected, but my fader is set 22/25 towards the front, and after getting used to that I can't stand it with the fader set at 0. I would agree there's some preference to it, but I'd also say that usually when people don't like not having sound from the rear speakers its because they have ****ty front speakers that can't put out any midbass, and that's usually why people like rear fill from my experience.

Yeah, i have the gain to my rears at about 1/3 of what my fronts are. Honestly, i don't even need to amp them.

Fixed. Last I did AIM with their tech they seemed really unsure about it. So I think I'm gonna give up and go with the 9.4 for fronts and 9.2x or 9.1 for subs whenever I get them.

Tell me about it. I was waiting with great anticipation and they told me that and I wanted to cry. Oh well. 2 amps look really cool anyway.

Again, i don't know about this particular brand. But even if they have two amps to fit your needs, your needs are fulfilled. I don't see the point of building a system around an amp. Or even if it fits you perfectly, you may want to change, no use in having 1-2 empty channels and another amp later. But, i will always separate my subs and speakers as speakers rarely need 2x the power of your other amped speakers but you can get sub that needs 3x with a trip to you local audio shop.

I only wanted the amp for a single powerful amp. I wouldn't have 1-2 empty channels because I'd either be running active or bridging the channels. I don't change equipment often at all. I can't afford too. So underrated power, a 3 year warranty, and same cost *if not less* for quality non Best Buy equipment looks really good too.
