Eibach or tein lowering springs

Ride quality depends on shock and spring. I would recommend that any spring that lowers more than 2" should be used with aftermarket shocks to get the best ride quality. I had Eibach Prokits (1.7" drop) with OEM struts, and the ride was slightly more comfortable than stock. I'm now on AMR coilovers (10k front, 8k rear), and the ride quality is very different, but not in a bad way.

Put it this way: if you want more control of your car, and if you want to feel more connected to the road, get coilovers. If you want comfort, get Prokits. If you want both, get Tein Basics.

"Good ride" is subjective and relative to the level of ride comfort you are looking for. Coilovers are overall a firmer ride than aftermarket spring/shock combos, provide better performance, and usually have a wider range of adjustability in terms of both height and stiffness.

Spring/shock combos are a softer ride, but still provide decent performance if you're not tracking the car. Some shocks are adjustable (Koni Yellows, etc) and some are not (Tokico Blues, etc), but the range of adjustability is less. Though depending on the shock, you can still get that slight adjustability for both height and stiffness. For example, Koni Yellows on their softest setting are 20% stiffer than stock.

Never waste your time putting aftermarket springs on OEM shocks, it is better to get the springs/shocks and install them at once.

While I agree with your other points, I have to disagree with this. Quality springs are perfect for someone who just wants that aesthetic look while maintaining as much OEM feel as possible, and spending as little as possible in the process. Prokits are advertised as springs that are able to be paired with OEM shocks, which is why I opted for those instead of Sportlines. They worked perfectly fine for the 2 years (year-round), then finally the rear shocks started leaking this past summer. Which led me to upgrade to coilovers because I wanted to go lower.

OP, I still have the Eibach Prokits sitting in my garage. They're mounted on stock shocks, but the rear shocks need to be replaced. If you're interested, PM me and maybe we can work something out. I can also send you pics of how my car sat with Prokits if you want.
