engine swap, f23a1 to f23a4

Sooo….the engine in my accord took a crap with 120,xxx miles on it. Great. I have a 98 accord with a f23a1 engine, well had. I called my local junk/scrap yard and the only engine they had for my car was out of a 2002 accord, ok no bog deal. They show up to drop it off and it’s a f23a4 ULEV…..fantastic. so, I have been trying to read up on what is different about the engines but all I can come up with is it has a different exhaust manifold and a different ECU? Fantastic. Sooooo my question is, are there any differences I should know about? Will I need to use another ECU? Will the engine even work in my car and can I use dc sport/megan /ebay headers on the ULEV if they even make them. I ask that because the engine did not come with an exhaust manifold and im assuming its going to coast an arm and a leg from Honda. oh and the intakemanifold is the same on both engines right?

ok thats good to know thanks. i pulled the blown engine out today, by monday im going to start dropping the new one in. is there anyhting i should worry about? diffrent plugs, wiring harness? anything like that?

Greg, can you tell me why he won't need the ULEV ECU? The ULEV engine uses a wideband O2 and a 32-bit ECU... would the A1 ECU work if he just swapped over the regular O2?

I dont see why it would matter. There's nothing actually different about the engines. He's just gonna bolt everying from his A1 up to the A4. Nothing else is changing but the motor.

I have a ULEV F23A4 (2001), and i bought the DC ceramic headers, bolts right up, no problems (no check engine light)....
