I'm shopping for a new clutch. Can someone please tell me
if there is a point of getting a stage 2 Exedy clutch over a stage 1?
It seems like everyone hase stage 1 clutch! How come?

Because, none of us make even close to enough power to warrant a stage 2. Hell, most of us could have gotten the OEM replacement and still have been fine. We just got a good deal on it.

Ok. Then how much HP are we talking about to need a Stage 2?
And regardless! Wouldn't it still last longer than stage 1?

Ok I guess I'm a little ignorant on why I will need a "better" clutch.
I know if the clutch heats up the friction is reduced and it takes longer to engage. Also I would assume that some clutches wear less than others but
other than that, why else should I care?

Unless you are doing turbo, Stage 1 is fine..and even then you could probably get away with it.

Um.I have plans for an H22 as soon as I have enough money. (August maybe.) But my clutch will die SOON. So I want to make sure to get a good clutch to reuse later.

OH! I almost missed that! TotalImmortal! What's a good deal on the Stage 1 and where did you get it from? Thanks.

eBay has Exedy Stage 1/Fidanza Flywheel combos for around 360 shipped.

And no, a stage 2 will not last any longer than a stage 1. It's just a more agressive friction material and a pucked design over a full face.

Just get an oem replacement. Save the money for your swap.

That seems like a waste of money. Get OEM, then throw it out and get a better one. I think it's much better for me to get a good clutch right a away and move it to the swaped parts
