Ok I have a magnaflow catback exhaust with a high flow cat and megan headers, previously had a straight pipe but replaced it with a high flow, now my problem is that everytime i drive or either push too hard, it really stinks and seems like its coming from the cat. It also drones and it sounds a bit annoying. It's an automatic transmission. A friend also said that because of it being automatic it's gonna drone. It sounds smooth when i rev it but it just drones and a strong scent occurs when i floor it. Today i went to the muffler shop a buddy noticed a small leak and rewelded it and drove it and seemed fine till after a while it starts to make this wierd noise and drones a lot. My question is, is it suppose to have some sort of drone sound when on full throttle? Should i be worried?

put in a couple of resonators to get rid of the drone.... as for the stink, is it a new exhaust? u'll get that for the first week on a new exhaust system

^Agreed, if it is new it will emit an aroma that isn't so fantastic.

I don't think it's possible for an exhaust to drone while accelerating, but it will drone slightly at crusing speeds. Again, if its new (especially Magnaflows), the droning will decrease as it "breaks in". I noticed that with mine anyway.

I remember when i had a straight pipe there was a huge rattling sound and wierd noise and put it on a lift and my friend told me that it might be my resonator. I got this exhaust around september so idk why it smells like this sometimes. But once i changed the straight pipe to the high flow around janurary, the wierd noise and the rattle was gone but still could here a bit small drone. So changing the resonator would fix it? should i just replace it with another magnalfow or is there one much better?

droning is what loud exhausts do at cruise speeds, as far as I know (you should ride in my Grandpa's Shelby) but the smell is weird. You shouldn't have 'new exhaust smell' after 6 months...Sometimes when they change your oil some spills onto the exhaust and smells, maybe it's that?? Or maybe it's another fluid leaking onto the exhaust.
