Ok so i have a 3.0L coupe with the stock dual exhaust, and i took off one muffler to see what the sound would be like. It actually sounded very nice, not loud, not too quiet like stock either... kinda like a stock 350z? Anyywwaaaayyys my dad got all upset saying that ill mess up the computer and everything by doing that..

My question is, would there be anything wrong in doing this?

I also ran it for about 2 weeks until he found out, and not lights went on so im saying it wouldn't hurt

No, it won't mess with any electronics or throw a CEL.

I dont know I'd you'll lose back pressure with stock piping though.

we don't have a true dual exhaust, so getting rid of one should not cause any type of problem.

We dont have true dual exhaust as in our exhaust is single till a Y pipe which allows for 2 mufflers to be ran is what he meant ejreams. If we had headers with seprate piping from headers back is true dual. no Y pipe used

Removing mufflers won't do anything but make your car louder because you removed one of the mufflers which muffles the sound of our exhaust

Well I figured, I thought of an old muscle car, but I was curious to how that relates to removing a muffler and effecting performance.

And right, the performance shouldn't really change from removing a muffler

As long as you have Sensors and a good cat you shouldn't have any CEL's

Just convert the exhaust to one muffler, don't drive around with one muffler off your b-pipe.
