RSX muffler? LOL
GReddy all the way for sure. I have a dual greddy setup on my GS300. Sounds GRReat... But, became too loud on freeway with headers.

Nothing wrong with using RSX/CL/TL/s2000 mufflers. With resonator/mid-muffler delete, they sound pretty good for OEM mufflers. And they probably flow a bit better than our stock mufflers.

S2000 oem twin loop sounds badass with stock piping and resonator.

They look better than our crappy oem also.

Why would he need 3" pipe with just bolt ons? There is no need to go overkill. 2.5 " is what most cat backs use, to keep sufficient back pressure.

I have a skunk2 & it sounds good. Not too ricey, but not deep. I have heard my buddie's greddy muffler & its real deep. He is running custom 2.5" piping header back. Stay away from N1 style or small bullet mufflers, higher pitch. Bigger can, usually means deeper tone.

May I ask why you want to avoid the N1 style exhausts? I'm currently looking at an N1 style with silencer and a OBX Type R for my 6cyl. I'm on a budget so looking at generics off of ebay.
I already have the high flow cat and performance headers sitting in the living room and just need to make a decision on the cat back. New to Honda's so all advise is appreciated.

Is it worth saving up for a name brand? The pipes are pretty rusty and there is already one large whole in the pipes where they split to go to the muffler and another where one of the mufflers bolts onto the pipes so I need to get the work done ASAP.

build quality
sounds like crap
less power gain (not like it would add much in the first place :lawl: )

This is my daily driver so I'm more interested in a nice sound than the horsepower gain (although that's nice to.) I'm working with about $500.00 budget. Any suggestions?

Just go with generic 2.5" piping, no need to spend money there. Use the money for the resonator/muffler end of things.
