i have koni yellows w/ ground controls which what the majority of these top hats are made for. but because of the fact that the gc/koni combo isn't popular for our cars, not to mention modifying accords in general, ground control doesn't make a set. plus my spring strut combo isn't a $300-400 combo. msrp would be over 1k but i ended up paying $600 for the set pretty much new. And if i was tracking my car or just lowering it for looks i would have got myself a nice set of coils. The thing is that i canyon my car so a set of coils wouldn't work very well for me.

plus the rubber on my current set of top hats is cracked. so i need a new set and an upgrade to a set that would eliminate other problems would be even more beneficial for ME. you guys dont have a suspension set that could benefit from this so obviously you guys don't see it as being practical.

i don't have any problem with anything hitting my UCA or worry about my struts bottoming out since i have koni's. i'm getting them to prevent the problem of how my suspension droops down over an inch when i raise it up beyond what is needed to change a tire. it's a problem with all sleeve strut combos and this is a prevention.

also here is a pic of custom extended top hat being used on tien basics and tokico whites

due to the reason that the shock would bottom out and make an annoying thud sound now with the extended top hats it rides smother and quieter

i cant see the pic yet but it's probably the spring isolator(if that's what rests inside of the top hat). plus i don't want to get the extented top hats just for that reason, but to also fix the reason i've stated in 2 out of the 3 previous posts i've made. not expecting a performance gain or anything

Edit: #9 in that pic v

that's fine, but it's not the main reason i want extended top hats. i don't understand why i need to keep repeating myself.:ugh: i don't care about the struts, they have a lifetime warranty. i want to eliminate the problem i have when jacking my car up higher than what is needed to change a tire. it could prevent a future problem from occurring at a shop, etc. and i don't want to get rid of my setup because i love the way it handles and how i can still adjust height/damper like coils
