hello noobs

i am having an issue with my exhaust and the soot tht comes from it. it has turned my bottom lip around the exhaust tip black and the heat has started to melt the lip. nothing noticable yet, but i am concerned.

should i make a heatsheild out of some spare sheet metal and attach it to the lip to protect the paint or just leave it as is cause it will mess up the look of the car?

hi noob, welcome to the forum :lawl:

if you painted it fpr, would the paint melt off it? there has to be some premade ones on ebay...if youre lucky enough, you might even find a type r one :lawl:

It's worth while if your having a problem with the tip melting the bumper. I've seen a few done on accords and IMO they don't look bad at all. Just space your rivets evenly and keep it looking nice.

I say do it, cuz Poly isn't easy to fix once it's been ruined, even though it takes alot to ruin a poly lip.

/\/\ Thats what I was thinking...

What you could always do it grab some spare sheet metal and if you know someone have them wrap it in carbon fiber. Similar yo the Evo's.
