The more I read the more it sounds like ill need less cam to get to 200 peak hp because the head flows a lot of air over a short duration

The f23 head has pretty small ports, and a crapy intake manifold. Flow is the problem. Bisi gives his duration at .04in to lift. Its alot different than the net duration. the 230 duration is probably really like 260-270 as you see on most cam specs.

something that I would look into is the import tuner issue #107 it has a discussion about cams in the back of that issue it gave me a better understanding about cams

A stock f23 head flows poorly. Not mine

Anyways. I need some input for the remaining parts. I need some injectors and engine management. I'm running an H23 manifold. What injector size/type and what obd1 ecu do/should i need. Will an AEM F23 fuel rail fit? I don't have the manifold here at home, its being worked on so I can't check. I'm thinking maybe 400cc injectors P28 ecu and ectune/chrome? I just want some additional input/verification.

p28 ecu with any kind of free tuning software will do find. fuel rail will not fit unless you drill new mount holes.

i do not have pics. its in the shop, about to get ported. I also called Advancedstreetperformance and I'm getting a custom 4-2-1 header. F*&$ it, I don't want to choke off everything else I'm doing with an ebay header.

Hey, I just noticed this thread... lol.

Yeah, I'm also messing with another F motor myself. I may not doa thread on it, we'll see. Did the whole F22 and it's been sitting on the engine stand for months! I'm trying something way more conservative.

Like AFAccord said, I went .050 off the head & bored to 86.5 on stock cast pistons and rods. Est. compression at 10.4:1 - I port matched head & intake to gasket, polished ports and basic valve job with Bisi's F23 spring kit. I'll be running my regrind (stage 2) Webcamshaft as well and modified F23 intake w/68mm TB; we're double checking piston to valve clearance this coming week. More on that later.

It'll be great to compare all of our numbers later to see what major differences there are. I'll be looking forward to your results. I hope to have mine by June. Good luck!

there they are. -5 cc 86.5 with the milling it should have a little over 11:1 compression.
