yeah the sensor with the lil black rubber thing on the head is the sensor that goes directly into ur cluster and tells your needle what to do/ no other sensor goes into telling the neeedle how to move. u should buy that sensor frm the dealer cause i bought the duralast 1 frm auto zone and i goes crazy sometimes(like moves up and down) but i know its not overheating.
if you want ur needle to work correctly you should purchase that sensor
there is no sensor above the termostat/ whats above the thermostat housing is the actual plug which i think can tell if the car is hot or not/ i think that what tells ur fans to turn on but im like 70% sure that what it does
