Hey guys I got a Fidanza aluminum flywheel from a guy on craigslist. It is brand new but it has surface rust on the friction surface because the guy opened the plastic packaging. My question is does it matter if this gets on my clutch or should I clean it with something? If so what should I use?

This is what it looks like.

try cleaning it with brake parts cleaner, if the rust is still there, i would highly reccomend getting it resurfaced

doit it right the first time since it is not fun to keep dropping the tranny

i am 98% sure that brake parts cleaner will clear up mild surface rust, but i would spend the 20 bux or so resurface it and get it done right the first time
