New to the forum. Just picked up an 1999 Accord V6.

I have searched, but to no avail. I was planning on blackhousing the headlights and upgrading to H.I.D., but my question is - Do you just purcahse a 9006 h.i.d. replacement bulb and ballast? is this just plug-n-play? also can you purchase the 35W h.i.d 9006 for the low beams and the 55W h.i.d. 9005 for the high beams? I have searched for this info, but cant find any specifics.

My second question is, I just ordered the DC Sports ceramic header. Will the stock cat need to be kept and gutted, or will these headers bolt up to a cat-back system? I'd just hate to come up 18" short when the header and exhaust systems show up.

Thanks for the help guys.

headers bolt up just like your stock headers. yes, they do make hid kits. try DDM tuning kits. kit comes with bulb's and ballast's.

I know that the headers bolt up directly to the head, but do they come up short from connecting to the cat-back system if you remove the cat?

you shouldn't be removing your catalytic converter. But they're called Bolt-Ons for a reason.

HID plug & play kits work, just be wary that you might have to replace them as soon as the warranty goes out.

either you did not search right, or search function is not working right.
hid and header questions are pretty much have been answered to death.

anyways, in general, hid conversion from halogen lamp require ballasts and appropriate bulbs in your choice of color temperature (measured in Kelvin). also, wiring harness is strongly recommended.

my advise to you is this: do it right the first time, or dont do it at all.
look up retrofit, and please consider this route. yeah 6thgen headlights are designed well, doesnt give off flares, its all good as long as you aim them down. well, i think they are just an excuses to cheap out on headlight mod, just like any other ones.

by doing retrofit, not only you will experience superb performance, retrofit is also legal, does not cause harm to anyone around you at night on the road.

i say retro, or leave it alone.

fair enough. perhaps i didnt read into the threads enough for the answer. and i was unaware that h.i.d. replacements were the so called "cheap" way around lighting. appreciate the quick responses.

thanks

I'm not sure where you read retrofit is legal but NONE OF THEM ARE LEGAL. Retro or HID they are both illegal. But I do agree with you with on the retro. It's amazing at night but not many people have the funds/skills/time to do it. HID Kit is cool if you don't blind people and if they are not super blue/purple.
