ok, I have been looking around youtube, forums, and talking to people.

problem with youtube is not many people list the setup, they just say "H22 accord", and even if they did list the setup they would be lying.

general consensus seemed to be that the 90-93 accords were way lighter. and that a H22 swap would push them into the 14's.

but I found a post on here showing our 01 EX coupe MT weighing 2967 (LX because EX wasnt in the list) and a 92 EX coupe MT weighs 2888.

is that right. I always read about people saying how heavy they say their 6th gen is, and how much lighter the 4th gens were. but they cant seriously be complaining about 79 pounds, can they?

I think I am going to just do a trans swap first, to get the car a bit quicker, then later do the swap to an OBD1 H22.

was looking at a low boost setup on stock internals, but it looks like (from watching the counter on youtube videos, lol...) an H22 swap is about as quick, and I figure a unboosted H22 is safer and more reliable than an F23 with even the slightest amount of boost. plus we could do the same lob boost setup on the H later anyways if we feel the need.

so are the weights listed wrong? will an H22 push a 6th gen EX coupe into the low-low 15's high 14's?

it will have I/H/E, lightened fly, removed balance shafts, stock wheels (no heavy rims). is there anyway this car will dip into the 14's?

First of all, there are 3 types of h22, which one are you going to get?
4th gen prelude - 187 hp
5th gen prelude - 197 hp
jdm prelude type-s/accord euro-r - 217 hp
something like this

As for the weight issue, check this site

You might wanna call Honda to get the true information or I THINK it's indicated on the sticker inside the door...

And as for the 1/4 mile time, look around the forum. Many have done the swap already and I'm sure they'll be very happy to awnser you.

Who cares about quater mile time, your racing in a straight line. Plus hondas are not made for drag racing. Dont worry about speed, with an h22 your car will be plenty fast. With some nice suspension work, you will have a decent car.

sure it might not have left the factory with the intent of going down the strip, but, honestly, how many people throw money at their honda and "dont" drag race, whether it be on the street or the strip?

and I can gaurantee it will never be on any kind of track other than a drag strip. it is probably not even to ever hit the drag strip. but I have owned quite a few hondas before, Ive had a 92 GSR, 94 CX hatch w/ B20, etc... and while none were ever a rocket, they were pretty quick and fun to drive. this is the fiances car, and since I only have an old F150 and an old daihatsu rocky, I have nothing fun at all to drive. but her accord isnt really quick, and not that much fun. the purpose of this is mainly just to make the dang thing fun to drive. but of course I want to know about how quick it will be. because a friend has a SPEC V and really likes to rub it in about how slow this accord is compared to their car.

the engine will most likely be purchased from HMO, and is going to be a 5th gen I assume.

and that list you linked me to, looks like the same list thats in the tech section of this site. and the weights I posted are the same in that list over there.

I figured that the boosted F23 would make more power, but the P2A4 sucks, gears are way too long, so I figured the shorter gears of the M2(F/A/B)4 would make up for the lesser power of the H22...

the H22 would also be cheaper in the end I think. and I wont lie, one thing that makes the H more enticing is the fact that this nissan owner says an H22 couldnt even beat her car and her "honda experts" said so. but these are the "experts" that told her no H22's have 200hp, and if you have an H22 with 200hp, then the nissan should be able to get all the mods you had to do to get 200, just to make it fair...

I know, I know. I should do what I wanna do to the car to enjoy it myself, not worry about others, but Ill admit it now. I guess I never fully grew up! lol:thumbup:

NA H22 with a LSD and a decent suspension setup will run most cars on the track.

your opinion.......

:haysm9:
single cam turbo on stock internals
call it day
better than a h22

when you get one, then you can say so. the repairs are monthly for turbo setups

To the op, the h22 is a good platform for our car. Drift is our resident h22 expert and has road raced his accord a few times a year. he may have some 1/4 mi numbers. i reccomend reding up on his build thread
