This is my first post in the forum, I can't believe it took me so long to find this place...
Anyway I love my accord but it's auto tranny is dieing.... (*yes!*) Which gives me an excuse to replace it with a new 5spd. While searching for one I found, and quickly bought, a non vtec h23 for 100 bucks with a ton of goodies attached/ rod knock. I then acquired some JDM 10.6:1 pistons and rods for it to remedy the knock. I the got an f23 manual tranny for free from a friend who's engine seized.

I want to do a swap but...
1) will the f23 tranny mate to the h23 motor?
2) can i use an f23 5spd ecu?
3) Are these new pistons going to work without re-sleeving?....they are oem.

I also have all of the associated parts with an manual tranny swap and an obd 2 to obd1 harness from boomslang.

Any info would be appreciated

1) ugh, yes
2) no
3) what pistons are they? H22? H23? I'm assuming H22 from the compression ratio.

You should be able to rehone the block, remember, it has FRM sleeves so you'll need to find a shop that's familiar with that process. You can't hone it like you would an iron block.

Do you have inspections in RI? I would say just convert to OBD1 and use a P06 ecy cuz that'd be the easiest route but if you have inspections or E-check that might not be an option.

Ok, I found a great deal on a chipped p06, the final thing i need to worry about is if the head will handle the increased compression or not.
