Ever since Greg posted up the price drop on the H23's on Tiger Japanese, I've been thinking about maybe purchasing a H23 in the spring and doing a swap. The miles are getting up there on the F, and I think I'm going to steer clear of boost for reliability reasons.

My basic question is what would it take to make the H23A work with my F auto tranny? Will it be a huge PITA? I'm not interested in doing a manual swap right now, and I'd plan on doing the engine swap myself with the help of some local 6GA members if they'd be willing.

Thoughts?

It'd be like trying to swap an OBD2 h22 in. Gonna need that oh so rare 96 lude ecu w/out immobilizer.

But if I got the ECU it would be fairly straight forward?

If the ECU is that rare, I'd probably find the ECU first, then buy the engine.

I have not seen anyone use the P13 OBD2a Automatic ECU that would be pretty cool and looks to be the ecu you posted. You will need a OBD2B to OBD2A conversion harness to make it work, I did the same with my H22 using the 96 OBD2 h22 5spd ecu so it should work the same since you want to stay auto using the ecu you posted.
