I'm getting this problem when going into 5th gear under 60mph and starting today in first after sitting at a dead stop with the clutch released and it in neutral, then trying to put it into 1st.

Today I was sitting at a red light. I realize my light is about to turn green, so I attempt to put it into 1st gear to go...but it just feels like there's a wall there. I release the clutch, press it again, and still it feels like there's a wall stopping me. I kind of went into panic mode and just turned the car off quickly then turned it back on, then it went into 1st. Tonight at taco bell, it wouldn't go into 1st when I was trying to leave. I realized if I went to 2nd then up to 1st quickly it would go in with ease.

What does this sound like it could be? It doesn't bother me, but it's just something if i can fix I would really like to.

My only guess would have to be from low fuilds. I have an oem 5spd with over 180k on it and it shifts like butter. So I don't really see it being a problem with the manual trannies.

Tyler does your car have a recently swapped in clutch? Maybe something was done wrong for the other two guys when the new clutch was being installed?

Maybe you guys are expecting it to shift to easy? But the way Tyler described his diff sounds like something is going wrong

I don't know if my clutch has been swapped before. My car was at 177xxx miles when I got it, is there any way it could still be on the stock clutch?

How would I go about checking it?

Dont rule out the master just yet. I had mad issues with my master cyl. These 5spd accords are fairly rare and parts for them have a tendency to sit on the shelf for a long time. I went through a bunch of them from napa auto b4 I broke down and ordered the oem part from the dealer..this fixed my issues

For those who have recently swapped to the 5-speed, after verifying there is no air in the line, I would check your adjustment from the pedal to the MC, and verify the SC is extending far enough.

AFAccord, what do you recommend me checking first? this is my first manual so I'm kinda lost. My shifts into 2nd, 3rd, and reverse are smooth as can be. But 1st, 4th, and 5th are hard to get into sometimes.

We'll definitely you have a leak in the lines or somewhere. I had a leak by the slave cylinder and going into the trans also. Because the stock one I had started leaking. I got a civic steel braided line that I was told would work, still leaked so I put teflon tape. Then still leaked so I put one my friend had extra lying around. Everything was good. Clean the area with degreaser and then feel for fluids around. Good luck! !
