yuuca valley/29 palms near palm springs. Ive asked a couple local small shops and a place in palm springs all say 5k becuase they want to strip the primer off. The macco i went to in moreno said 2600 to do a detrim a sand a color coat then a clear with a buff and shine. The single stage crap job would be like 480 but i dont want my car to look all orange peeled and crap.

i suggest you at least somewhat prep it yourself then. just sand it all down and that should knock off a portion of what they're charging you. just ask them what grip sand paper they use.

be like it is
The only reason i bring this up is becuase like i said my friend got some and told he thinks the light output is better. Granted he doesnt know **** about **** and had a stereo shop install them. But id figure he would at least know the diffrence in what he sees with his own eyes. I asked him if the light output is was as good he said better, and i asked if they made any weird shapes he said no. So i thought id ask about just what the deal was.

i'll refrain from rofl'ing about the errors and wall of text and super-duper optimism and give you some life advice instead.

the friends you have who don't know their mouth from their asshole except that food goes in one and **** comes out the other...DONT listen to them. NEVER take their advice.

he says the halo's are better because he paid for them. would you feel bad to admit that you paid for something thats worse than you already have? it happens in car audio all the time: if its newer...if its more expensive...if its a "better" brand name...it HAS to sound better. its absolutely not correct. its called "psychoacoustics" when you "hear" a difference between 2 things that shouldn't matter (like switching out speaker wire. the wire sounding better is impossible).

if you must take advice from others, wait a few months and see if their advice is really that good.

you don't want them. they look good but the output isnt good at all I had them on my car fro about 7 months and one of the halo's died after about 4 months so I unplugged them, then there was no reason to keep them so I blackhoused my stanly's and switched back. The only goo thing that I got out of buying my ebay projectors is that I used the clear lenses off of them to replace my crappy hazed lenses on my stanly's.

Blackhousing is the way to go... But I love my TYC's + 5000K HIDs (I'll use my OEM blackhousings as backups)

I dont want to see another thread about halos. Black housed look way better, OEM headlights look way better. Retros look the best.

thats a matter of opion. I will not be using halos do to the quality but if there were hi quality halos out there or a retro they would look nice. Its all in the eye of the beholder.

But as far as this thread goes im not going to buy halos only had breif consideration from a friends first hand experince. so thanks for the input.

If anyone can tell me where to get a good paint hook up in so cal thats a diffrent story.

It's a matter of opinion of %99 on this forum and probably a lot of people on the outside world. Halos belong on Bimmers not Hondas. I would like to compare your friends output VS my TSX retro fit, so you guys can see what looks nice and what doesnt. Once you've seen the best ****, you won't go back. I used to have some TYC projectors and I thought they were the great until I bought a retro.

one day paint actually does a decent job, you just have to do a bit of the prep work yourself because they're not the best at that. and as long as you take care of the paint it'll last and stay looking good. plus it's under 1k. my friends car was painted there 5 years ago and it still looks nice
