dei seems to be the most popular. i heard it makes your header more brittle and prone to cracking though :(

yeah i heard real bad things, that it retains too much heat within and speeds up the breakdown process a lot quicker.

i had ceramic coated DC as it is, so it's not that hot. not as hot as Megan.

what about heat wrapping the intake pipe? I see people wrapping their intake tubes, to block engine heat from heating up the intake charge? does this really work, dont wraps retain heat INSIDE rather than shield it from heat, seems kinda stupid IMO. specially since the intake charge will heat up once it hits the scolding intake manifold anyway. same thing goes for CAI too, whats the use of the colder air, if the IM is gonna heat up the air anyway. seems liek a marketing gimmigck to me. (to bad I fell for it lol)

My brother used it on his downpipe and it barely got any surface rust, even though it's mild steel.

i might wrap the i intake pipe, but the problem is aesthetics. if you wrap the intake pipe, it doesn't look good unless you also wrap the header.

honestly, if i were you, and i wanted to i would wrpa everything regardless of what people are saying. why?

1. if you don't push redline everyday or 300+ HP, i don't think there's that much stress or heat to **** up your header within the lifetime of the car
2. you will gain maybe 5 HP from all this with little to no harm
3. nothing ventured nothing gained

My AEM CIA intake is wrapped, and seems to keep the pipe a little coolor than without it. Plus overtime the wrap has seemed to glue itself to the intake pipe..lol. Being that aluminum intake pipes are the coolest, the wrap just aids in process of keeping the intake at slightly lower temps. I think it helps in warm to hot weather, but when we have cooler weather the pipe is Very cold..lol
