Header wrap

Has anyone installed and used header wraps for their accords? I have a stainless steel header that's only a month old and has already gotten an aged look to it from the heat. I imagine polishing them would keep them clean but i really want them to be maintainance free. So a header wrap would be nice for looks and function. I read on other forums that installing header wraps voids the manufacturer warranty for the header, and can lead to being prone to cracking due to increased heat retention of the header.

Any opinions?

header wraps are purely for looks on a N/A car, polished generally looks better, especially if you keep your bay clean

What brand of a header are you using?

A wrap would keep the heat in, rather out. Meaning it will produce more heat which can cause a fire or cracking.

Header wrap will not cause fire or cracking on a stainless header. If it were a ceramic coated (aka mild steel) header it will b/c the fiberglass material holds moisture and will basically rot the header. BUT - you can always get the ceramic header coated (preferably inside and out) and then wrap it and it'll be just fine.

I wrapped my header and I've seen plenty of others with wrapped headers or turbo manifolds and zero cracking. Wrapping the header actually helps the exhaust escape faster.

its like 40 bucks a roll and takes maybe 1.5 rolls to wrap some headers. you might be able to get by w/ using just one roll. it all just depends on how you wrap it
