Is there anyway to change headlight bulbs without going the HID route to make them brighter?

This really isnt a DIY, but I thought I'd put it in here. But could you just put in LED lights straight into the stock wiring.

So basically, I just want to make my headlights brighter without putting HID's in them.

And I have cleaned my lenses, so they are very clean.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

You could try Hyper white bulbs. I don't think LEDs will work as headlights as they won't emit enough light.

LED for headlights will not be functional. If you don't want HID, just go to your local auto parts store and pick up a 9006 silverstar bulb ( will not last long) or any 9006 100w bulb.

Are you talking about your low beam? You do not want to use LED's for any light that needs to be projected, LED lighting does not have the wavelength for usable light. Or I should say, they haven't found a way to make that work yet.

It's either HID bulbs or retrofit. I noticed better visibility at night with some Philips halogen bulbs though, and they were a little whiter. Still, nothing compared to HID.

So basically, the answer to your question is no.

Silverstars are a waste imo. I paid $25 for the Philips at Meijer and they were brighter and whiter than the Sylvania's, and they lasted a lot longer.

I think there's a thread on where people have put their ballasts. You don't have to actually mount them, you can tape them down, there's a few places. Most members on here have HID headlights.

You can mount the ballasts on either side of the re-bar.

Passenger side, near the windshield washer resevoir, driver's side, same area.

You just want to make sure you don't mount them somewhere water gets in to.

You can use zipties or L-brackets as your mounts.
