hey all,

I recently took off the accord and v6 badges. upon removal I was left with a lighter red where the badges were covering up. this red i'm assuming is how my paint looked back in 2002 haha.

I thought I remember seeing something on this forum about how to remedy this, but i can't find it. Any ideas guys?

huh that's odd, figured it be darker not lighter, wet sanding might take it out or make it blend a little

yeah I guess I see why you might think it would be darker, fading from the sun right? I was thinking it was that way, maybe because dirt/ tar/gunk got on the exposed areas and not where the badges were. if it is something to this cause, would clay
baring it help

clay bar will remove imperfections and crap in the clear coat, making your car very smooth, it wouldnt hurt but i doubt itd fix that lighter area

Dang, clean! Ya, compound, but no orbital req'd, just if you want. I'd consider those as "ghost" logos! My accord the logos came off, like yours, a little elbow grease went in, then clean...

Then some ***** rear ended me, so they got new paint, lol.

i'll try some of these suggestions when i can , and update. as far as compound, what should i be looking for. i have some meguires polishing compound, but i'm wondering if i want something more aggressive like a rubbing compound. (sorry if its a dumb question, i;m a novice at this type of detail work)
