You're wasting your money unless you drive EXTREMELY short trips, idle A LOT, and live in a desert. I change mine every 5k, had it analyzed and they said everything was fine and to try a 7k OCI. I have 202k miles on mine.

i went about 6.5k without an oil change this past few months.
probably one of the more unhealthy things i've done to my car. :ugh:

If your using synthetic oil you shouldn't feel so bad.

I went from a 1991 Nissan 240sx SE with 124xxx original miles on auto tranny and KA24de motor to a 99 Accord coupe I4 V-TEC Auto which im sure is 100% all original outside of basic maintance stuff (dur) and im sitting between 119-120k i've put 2-3k on since end of March beginning of April when i bought her for 5k from the dealership :147703263745b138a51 ^_^

shes in EXCELLENT condition... looks like garaged kept, lil cancer under paint on a small corner of the hood, lil rock chips and scratch's that im filling in with a duplicolor pen and i got to replace a few bulbs behind the trip/ odometer and behind the clock and patching a small section of the leather... other than that she's like new. schedualed for a trip to the dealership in august... looken at 5-6k miles on oil life by then...

i have been warned about the V-TEC burning a bit of oil... but we'll see when i double check when i get the chance... and i may hit V-TEC 1-3 times a week for a short stint...

Woo just hit 170k! Tranny was rebuilt, burns some oil on long trips like to Vegas that are about 300+ miles. About a quart or so. Not so bad though when I'm just driving around town or in SoCal. I'm lovin it...Just hope autotragic doesn't fail on me again.
