It looks like he painted most of the engine/hoses too, but that could just be the pic quality as far as the hoses.

^ Would have looked better if he left the H emblem there and painted the lettering black. Or left the panel black and painted the lettering red.

Agreed. But, this is pretty much what I want to do. Except, I will be doing mine in silver, and be painting the "H" and all the other lettering in the same black as the IM.

I think that will be total badassery :D

Johnny, you are going to paint the IM black and the covers silver, yes?

Def post pics when you've got it done.

I have a Haynes Manual to help with taking things apart when it comes to painting the IM, but a I will have to look in to that for the new project.

Correct, I will be painting the IM matte black and the covers silver.

I'll be posting before, during, and after pictures when It's all said and done ;)

I know how to take apart the IM. I just cleaned out my IACV and also did the EGR port for the second time over the weekend since I've owned my car.

Hopefully you can find the silver that closet matches the OEM paint.

you may want to check with a Sherwin Wiliiams as well to see if they can recommend/provided the right colour for you.

Yea, that's my biggest concern. That and I don't know what type of paint to get. Something in a rattle can? Or would it be a small bucket of paint? I'm sure it'd be a rattle can. I mean, how else would it be applied?

Rattle can.

Once you take the parts off, make sure you have an area to paint them in that is dust/debris free and have at it.

You may have to sand down and re-apply as needed, just make sure the coats go on evenly. Give it about an hour or so in between coats and you should be good.
