Well some people don't realize that the best looking mirrors for our 6th gen are the OEM.
other than that is a waste.

does the front lip actually need modifications?

The CF4 is a smaller car, so I'm assuming that you need some work to fit the lip on. In this case, molding it on was probably easier than making it bolt on to the bumper.
