If the check engine light is on that means the PCM is working. Think about this one, the PCM is the component that sets the light in the first place and if it is spitting out codes than it must be working. Please do not be a bedroom engineer and give out shady information like this on the web.

OP most problem flow charts always end with "replace PCM". I would get a good sold wiring diagram of that circuit and starting testing. Good luck OP.

think about what i said it if as soon as you turn the key it stays solid the ecu is toast i just had to swap a p28 for my h swapped 6g so please look cool for another group of people. anyone who knows honda knows what happens when you have a bad ecu. bedroom engineer? yea you dont know me very well.

the key has nothing to do with the ecu. i have a p28 in my car the immo in the 6g is standalone if you ever tried to install a remote start youd know

Can you explain why you would need to have keys matched to the ECU and vice versa?

ECU's are the last stop on the diagnosis train. If you've verified the component is working, the wiring between the component and ECU is okay, then logically the ECU must be junk. Usually last to be replaced because they're so expensive.

This was a device that honda as well as many other car companies created to prevent theft in all their vehicles. Every car has a different ECU/KEY program so you cant even jimmy or pick the ignition. Thats why Honda OBD1 cars have the highest theft

I know what it is and how it works. I'm asking jaron to defend his statement that the key has nothing to do with the ECU.

I am not trying to look cool, I am ASE certified. Just because you swapped PCM does not make you a master tech. PCMs don't usually just go bad, drivers don't usually just blow. This is why I am hesitant to tell this member to replace his computer. I may not know you very well and that is OK, but I would really feel bad for this chum if he had to drop money on a PCM because you are telling him to throw parts at his car over the web.

for some cars that is correct for some hondas that is correct also. but for the 6th gen in question it is not correct. the ecu HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH THE KEY OR IMMO IN HIS 6g. its a separate unit under the dash on the dirver side that takes care of making sure the right key is in the igniton trust me ive hooked the directed modlue into this i know the deal with keys ecus and IMMO's again this isnt a car where this applies

saying your ASE certified dont mean anything to me, i know lawyers who never won a case. and i wasnt telling him the ecu is bad i told him what the happens when a ecu is bad. "SOLID CEL" and by solid cel i mean solid from the time you turn the key 1 click to solid when your trying to pull the code. you should know this. i dont know what else to say to you man but i know, know-how about cars dont come from books and test in every case.
