Anyone know how to work with fibreglass, bondo etc? I am trying to build a navigation housing for my maxima but I did not find anything online. I made something like a template which looks like a55 but oh well. I made the template from a box. Put primer and did ghetto painting. The navigation has a snug fit which is not bad. The entire thing looks okay in the car but not that great due crappy surface of the housing.

Without the housing, thats how my navi would look like...

My pioneer has another wire for direct connection with car ignition. Most likely I will use that route in order to hide away wires as much as possible.

Then you will want to make the sides/back MUCH more contoured to the shape of the dash.

You may have to actually screw it to the dash as well to make sure it's secure, because there won't be anything to hold it down, even with fibreglassing it.

I think it will look really weird with a box sitting on top your dash. Dont those Maxima have a pocket about the size of a double din in the lower dash? Can you fit it in there instead (if it fits)?

That pocket in front of the shifter looks big enough? No? It will look SO much cleaner if you can fit it in there.

I agree, it would look add, but properly fibreglassed, it would be ok.

The only thing is getting the colour to match the dash. Other option is to paint the piece the same colour as the other orange interior pieces.

Definately can make something a little more streamlined that will sit better up there.

Any audio shop can do it, so maybe check with Audio Heaven.
