You mean the valve cover gasket? What do you mean it won't stay on rite? Are you putting to much torque on one bolt at a time? I usually I tighten down in 4-5 lbs increments.

kinda slips out in the bak some on sides

Do you have it seated around the spark plug tubes correctly? If it's not, the edge of the ring seal would be caught on the edge of the plug tube.
