So we had a staff development today so our managers closed our office for the day and took us all to six flags for the day... YAY :jerkit: (i've been trying to get them to spend money on us for years and all we get is six flags.... )

anyway we had to wake up early this morning... so we can get there because we are going to the New England one which is about a 3 hour drive....

so anyway before i continue, heres the details: there is this homeless guy (I call him Larry) that usually stands in front of stop and shop supermarket plaza with a sign that says "Will work for food" or "I am a homeless Vietnam vet, please help me eat tonight". everyone knows him because he has been hustling the same spot for a few years now. to the point where the police don't really bother him for panhandling because they just feel bad. i even gave him money once or twice... and he looks pretty beat up, dirty clothes, long unshaven beard, etc etc

so its 5:25 this morning and we are driving down main street to the gas station and i see this man parking his car behind dunkin donuts taking out his cardboard... i look a little closer and i see that it is this same homeless man ready to get on his morning hustle... he is driving a 2001 Mercades benz E320... and im sitting there in shock like "YOU GOTTA BE ****ING KIDDING ME"

My boss tells me, "yea thats him, hes been doing it for a while, thats how he is paying his car note, thats why i never give him money"

ALL I CAN SAY IS **** YOU LARRY THE HOMELESS GUY IN FRONT OF STOP AND SHOP!!!

I am still mad cuz i gave him money on more than one ocassion because i felt bad

Oh man that really grinds my gear :kenny: I use to see people like that all when I would take the subway to work and later find them fresh and clean. That why I never give money away I always offer to buy them food and a drink at least I know where its being spent instead later to find I just donated to pay their car note or cell phone bill.

be like it is
fast forward to 5:08 (couldn't find a separate clip)

pretty much every city in the country was running stuff on people making more panhandling than their real jobs...at least thats what it seems. a couple people around here were making $300 a day.

There's way too many people like that near me. One guy asked me for money for gas one time cause his car ran out... Gave him a few cents. The next week he's at another spot saying his car broke down. I ask him where his car is and he said it's down the street... So I asked to take him there so I can maybe take a look at it trying to call his bluff... B*tch just said "nevermind" and started ignoring me. haha... Too many stories of sh*t heads like that... If they have the nerve to ask me for change while they have a cigarette in one hand and a brown bag of booze in the other... they don't need my money.

Yeh I've seen many stories like this. Dam shame that there are people capable of committing such cowardly acts. Also sucks cause that put in the shadow the people who really need the help. But yeh, I don't know how long ago it was but I heard about a survey that was done and it turns out that the majority of homeless people have money, some are even millionaires, they just simply can't handle responsiblity. Also, there was another survey done on how much money some homeless people make panhandling and no joke quite a few of them make almost 100k a year lol. Just grinds my gears on how people just take advantage or other people.
