I can't figure it out..

So I just started driving my again about a week ago after it being down for a month. Due to upgrading brakes and working on cleaning the car up. Nothing was really done to the car in which could lead to the problem I'm having... So when I first starts driving it again it would start up really rough. Sounding as if it was getting enough life to the motor. It would idle at 1300 and sound like it was only running on three cylinders. When I would give it a little gas it would sound exactly like a subi with an exhaust. At first I though maybe it was bad gas since it has just been sitting. Drove it until it was all gone filled it up with some shell 92. Still had the problem and was going through gas hella fast, like 10 mpg... So I changed the oil and filter.. Ran perfectly for about a day and half. Then it started again. But now idling at 300rpms. With giving it some gas it would go to a perfect idle and drive just fine. But it does this every time I start it. And now it's to the point where I have to give it gas while cranking it for it to turn on. But would drive fine once I got going. And last night I went out for a drive with my buddies.. They said every time I would give it WOT I would dump black smoke from the exhaust. Which if I can recall means all the fuel isn't being burnt. But today when I went to pull out into traffic I tired to give it gas and all power just cut out around 4 grand. Shifted to second.. Same thing all power lost but would keep going past 4grand so I know that's not the vtec malfunction. Also I'm not getting any CELs.


Thinking it could be bad injector? :thinking:

Sry for misspelled words and if things don't make 100%sense. Typing on my iPhone right now. Will give more info and correct anything once I get to my computer.

^dont know why spark plugs would be doing this when everything is pointing towards fuel related. but will go check them..


thinking about swapping in some h23a injectors i have..

If they're not sparking properly.
If the h23 injectors work then why not. You already got them so they're free.

ecu maybe? my friend's ecu was crapping out, did hte same thing, strange idles, strange power losses, unburnt fuel.

I am now dumping out a lot of white smoke at idle. And is getting to the point where the car doesnt wanna start at all. I changed the spark plugs, pulled my injectors and cleaned them up a little bit. Although I didn't have them flow tested or did the little DIY where I hook them up and spray cleaner through them.

Starting to think my headgasket is bad. :( I wish I would just get a CEL so I can know what's wrong

Oh yeah.. H23a injectors don't fit

it sounds like a ecu problem maybe! I had issues with a few of my ecu's but now im fine! Are you tuned? definitely could be something with the distibutor too!
