okay, so I got a .7 reading from the sensor ground connection to negative battery post. But nothing came up on the ECU IAT pin to "hot" IAT plug connector. All the wiring looked good and it's surrounded in split loom. Should I try an locate a IAT plug connector from a junkyard and solder that in?

You were right with all your assumptions, good job. There being no continuity between the connector and the ecu is most definitely your problem. You should just run a new wire all the way down to the ecu, its easier than disassembling the harness to find the break. Finding a new connector may help, and may be prudent, but probably isnt the issue.

Thanks for all your help. Sorry for being a constant pain in the rear end. I would be totally lost w/o your assistance. There is another thing I don't quite understand. The IAT wire is yellow/red at the ECU connector but green at the Sensor connector? Why the color difference? I just want to be 100% sure about what I'm doing before I start hacking up the factory harness. On a side note, a Valet Remote Start was installed a little carelessly (just splice and electrical tape) by Circuit City about 3 yrs ago, so I know the wiring harness has been tampered with. Would that have any bearing on my problem?

Same red/yellow wire I assume coming from firewall

lol. The connector you have pictured is the fan switch. The IAT connector has a red/yel wire.

See, I knew something was up. I looked around and this is the closest connector with that style design plug. I will have to do some more digging. Good thing I posted this first. Thanks for your help again.

I thought this connector shown here is for the fan swith located on top of the thermostat housing? Green and black but with shorter wiring, and on the opposite side of the engine.

This is green and black with short grey stripes?

i am under impression our 'iat' is actually called VAT: vane air temperature, (close to intake air temp). i put in g force chip and had to find this sensor (right end of intake manifold). autozone was able to identify it. yours is obviously in same spot but my wires are diff. colors.

Thats wierd man. I'm not sure whats going on there. Are there and 2 pin connectors in the area that do have a red/yel wire?

wat?

Its called and Intake Air Temperature sensor, hence the acronym IAT.
