increasing keyless remote entry range

how do you increase the range on these things? i got to be right up on my car in order for it to work. and my friends can do his from inside his house.

there is a myth that if u put it right under your chin, it will work 100% of the time and from a pretty good range.....or you could just change the battery: CR2025. :coffee:

Actually I gotta say, a lot of the time, even with it right under the chin (and yes, a brand new battery) it sometimes only works when up close. I've noticed that at most large parking lots. But at home, I can be in my house and it'll work without the "chin trick."

Been looking through my Haynes manual and I can't figure out where the receiver for the keyless entry is though. Any idea?

the battery is probly 4 months old. in a big parking lot yesterday it wouldnt pick up until i was pretty much at the door. other times i can get it if im close to it.

do you have another transmitter to try? theyre kind of fragile in case yours is damaged. mine is really pissy, sometimes i get it 100' out, other times it wont work even when i'm standing on top of the car. btw i think the multiplex is near the glove compartment.

that is true i used to do that all the time when my battery got low. myth works

Mine lost it's range, i replaced the battery, no change. I took it apart and found that the tabs for the battery ground on the circuit board came loose. It still worked, the range just sucked. I resoldered and it was good for about 2 months, happened again.

so there isnt a button to just go increase the range somewhere?
