the lines also run through the front of the engine bay by the exhaust manifold, if anything.. its hotter there than the intake pipe side

with the advice tht i was given when this happened to me, i was told to check my engine mounts because the engine is flexing back and forth too much... turn s out that my front engine mount was shot... its worth a try to see if its has the potential to do morethan just break a sri

Happened to me too, but with eBay piping.

I think it happened because the fitment was really tight, I had to muscle the pipe around a little bit to get it to fit. Also, like nyknick said, check your motor mounts as well. Having the pipe bolted to the engine bay without a rubber washer/spacer to absorb the vibration puts a lot of stress on the pipe.

Yours happened because it was a hard mount to the chassis. The engine moves around, no matter what condition the oem motor mounts are in. If you do not have a flex mount on that tab, it will eventually bend or break somewhere.

Easy fix - JB Weld. Your intake will not see a hard vacuum, so it will hold up fine. If you don't change it to a flex mount, it will break again though.

the Rubber mount is a must! i had a thread regarding my AEM intake.
dont JB weld it. what i did was contacted AEM and took some snap shots of it and they asked me to fill out all kinds of information :deal: and they sent me a brand new one for free. not sure if Injen offers that but it's worth a try.

prob. happend due to worn out motor mounts letting the engine aggressively move back and forth

So what did you do for the 4-6 weeks it took to get another one? Suck unfiltered engine bay air into the hole?

someone suggested that i put tape over the hole and drive it till i get a replacement.
i just took another car, i am not car genius but i would not recommended driving it till you switch it out or replace it. that's just me though
