Re: Interior Overhaul

Don't use satin black. I've used satin black on the interior before and it makes it look too shiny. Use flat black. That way it'll look like it was made to be in there. All the other plans look good tho man.

Ninja edit. The satin actually does look good. Lol.

I like what I'm seeing.

Have you found that you were able to use about the same amount of coats on all the pieces?

I didn't see any clear in you pic of the products, are you clearing the pieces as well?

yeah each piece has pretty much the same amount of coats so far, parts of the large pieces that arent touched or seen have less coats but besides that pretty even.
i bought some krylon satin clear(wasnt made for plastic so that could be the problem) and it went on like sh** left splochy areas even though i was putting it on perfectly, and its dried clear/white. so i found some matte clear for plastic at hobby lobby and ive used it on the fuse doors and other parts so far, it works great but im only using it on high contact areas, i want to keep the satin finish on most pieces and the big pieces(except for door sills)

Yeah, good way to do it.

I was contemplating doing silver with my interior, and I know we have that Krlon Plastic Paint up here, so I may give it a try.

Looks like it holds up well with the right preparation.

You should do a dash removal diy.

Looking good so far

i didnt take my dash out to paint it, i didnt have the windshield in it so it was pretty easy to do the top while in the car, im doing the lower vinyl part when it comes out of the bodyshop.
i did remove the dash out of my parts coupe that had the light gray leather, it was a b****, its mostly screw and small bolts holding it in, the wires are the hardest part because theres sooo many and theyre hard to get to

that seems like the easiest way to do it. i want to tackle a black interior, everything seems straight forward, just the dash is a PITA
