Re: Is anyone interested in Function Form coilovers @ a discount??

First of all I think the tax is way too high too, I have the money too so i would like to see what's going on with the price...
second and most important....I have no idea about suspension specs, especially about stiffness, my questions is...F2'S would compromise comfort? since many people say Tein are close to stock, I would like a setup that gives me the ability to adjust the dampening but without feeling all the bumps of the road.....

Re: Is anyone interested in Function Form coilovers @ a discount??

I understand you Cali guys' concern about the tax. I'm aware that Cali state sales tax is 8.25% (same as in TX here). It sounds like to me from what the F2 rep gave me as prices they're charging 10% tax. I can ask the rep to work with the in-state folks on this, but I need 100% confirmation that for $730+$60(tax)=$790 you WILL buy. Otherwise I have no leverage to get them to help me out on pricing.

As far as comfort, the rep @ F2 told me that he has felt Tein SS coilovers before and the F2s are stiffer but still "butter smooth" in comparison. I don't think ride comfort will be an issue because of the way the coilovers are designed. If you lower your car on Teins vs. these F2s you'll get a better ride from the F2s because you'll retain the original amount of shock travel. So basically...the F2s will be stiffer but since they're not gonna be as harsh of a ride as Teins...every bump you feel isn't gonna hurt your rear.

OK I see, the ride would be a lil more stiffer than teins, but not that stiff...it would be nice to have a solid final price and a list in order to get the big picture....anyways, what about the dates of the purchase and the payment method?

^^ That would be...but that also wouldn't include state sales tax...which I think they're required to charge.

t.blackaccord -- I spoke to the F2 rep that I'm dealing with and asked him on 2 separate occassions...he told me $100 shipping to Canada and when I asked about duties he said they ship via FedEx and other international carriers so the duties are included.

ccordex00 -- right now I'm tryng to gather 6 people by Aug. 2 (next Thursday). Payment method (as told to me by F2) can be either everyone pays separately through Paypal, or everyone pays me and I pay F2. I prefer for everyone to pay for their own because I think it is easier and safer for everyone to just send payment to F2.

I think I forgot to mention, and I feel the need to clarify this. I WILL NOT be making ANY money off of this group buy. That is not my intention. To me, $730-$760 for adjustable coilovers with pillowball mounts is a STEAL...that's the only reason I have for setting up this group buy. The prices I have given you are the price quotes that I have received from F2 directly. There is nobody other than F2 making money in these transactions. I can only get them to budge on price so much because I don't have enough people that are saying "I have money ready to go RIGHT NOW."

Ok, i'm getting very interested on the setting....since most of the people get paid around the 15's why don't you make the deal for that day so maybe you can get more people and even a lower price (maybe) no lowballin' or anything but I think that could be a good idea...make a list and have the final price for CALIF, OUTSIDE CALI AND CANDA...
Also in the case somepeople (locals) might wanna save some $$ and go pick it up...can u please get the price for pickup with everything included (tax and site fee)???

Re: Is anyone interested in Function Form coilovers @ a discount??

^^ Thanks for the feedback...here's what I have laid out.

The reason why I picked August 2nd is because there's a member on V6P who said he would go another route if this group buy didn't come together by then. If I can get like 2 or 3 members in by extending to the 15th, then I'll let him go and he can order whatever other coilovers he wants.

The prices I laid out are going to be the prices. Right now, I can't tell how many people are going to be in the group buy. That's just the way price bracketing works...I won't know how many people are in until the order goes through and I can't tell you the price for sure until I know for sure how many people are in. There are always those who back out at the last minute for different reasons.

I will call F2 again on Monday and ask him to do a breakdown of the pricing for in-state Cali people (how much for the coilovers, how much for tax and how much for shipping). The other prices will be as stated in the original post.

t.blackaccord -- If I can get 6 people to make the initial order, I can order sets after that for $730USD (outside of Cali). If you're in Canada you can either have it shipped somewhere in the states close to you and pick them up, or you can have them shipped to you @ $830USD total.

If I set the date to August 15th, will you both be in? ccordex00, I know you're waiting for a possibly lower price, but @ $830(taxed and shipped inside Cali) are you still interested? I will call F2 and try to get a lower price for you guys, but right now the three of us are the only ones who are ready. That still leaves us in the $750 & $850 price bracket. We need more people!
