I think it's a fair price...right between the omnis and tein ss...600-900 (1/2=750) with the adjustability feature and pillow mounts....I'm down 100%

Can you please explain the advantage of coilovers for Accords that have the pillow mounts? Maybe as you help me understand this feature, you'll find the last buyer you need to do this GB.

Thanks.

Ok, let's see...i'm new to suspension so don't take my word for granted, but so far I understand that most oem suspensions are made of rubber so they can improve ride comfort in combination with the stock suspension therefore using the stock mounts with aftermarket suspension might(again...might!!!! don't take my word for granted) reduce the response of your car with the new suspension (reduce the potential). On the other side pillow mounts are made of aluminum which can improve the response of the aftermarket suspension. In case you wanna take your accord to a track might improve your handling but I don't know if the F2 pillow mounts allows to control camber.....now, since accords are mostly used as daily beaters I don't see a much improvement, however, if you take a look at the prices of pillow mounts, the difference between the F2 group buy and buying the Tein SS +pillow mounts it surely gives you an idea of the advantage....
Again don't take my opinion as final since I only have basic knowledhe about suspension (this is going to be my first suspension with the accord) correct me if I'm wrong

In a few words...having the pillow ball mounts will aid in fixing your camber. It'll also allow the coilover to sit at the proper angle and center the stroke of the shock. Better ride quality, better handling are a couple of key benefits.

The big thing....you don't have to swap your OEM top hats. No spring compressor needed. Just take your old struts out and put the coilovers in. Should take you 3 hours if you've never done it but you have a guide (ex. Helm's manual).

Lemme know if you have anymore questions. I'll be able to reply faster if you email me ([email protected])!

Thanks,
Jeff

At the risk of sounding thick-skulled, I have to ask about the camber correcting abilities of the pillow-ball mount on coilovers.

When I replaced my stock shocks w/ Tokico's, it seemed to me that the wheel connects to the upper and lower arms with ball joints, and all a shock/strut does is control the up and down movement. It doesn't make sense that moving the top of a coilover in or out would have any bearing on the camber.

Camber kits replace the upper arm, right? And they adjust camber in effect by moving the upper ball joint in or out, right?

Maybe I'm missing something here. Thanks for helping me understand this if I'm not seeing it.

Some guy said that these were softer than stock at softest setting. And from what I've seen.. the Type 2's are rated at 10/8, as noted on the first post, which is.. not even close to Tein SS (which are retardedly soft) and my coilovers. I have AMRs, rated at 10/7 and they are good god.. NOTHING like stock at the softest setting. To that person.. he deserves a :slap: and B.S!

I've posted this over on V6P.net and I don't think there's anyone who has shown interest here that's not already a member over there, but this is what I've decided to do about the buy now and buy later situation.

If you're going to buy the coilovers later, I'm gonna ask that you put down your share of the GB fees as a deposit. As of now, with 8 people, that $6.25/person. Then when the time comes to order, you'll just pay for the coilovers. I'm doing this so that I don't get stuck paying GB fees for the people who said they were going to buy later and flaked out. This way if you're serious, $6.25 isn't much, and if you're unsure but want to be on the list, $6.25 isn't bad to save you a spot. If you want to buy them later, and you don't pay your share of the fee now, you won't be able to order them for this price through me.

The pillow mounts have nothing to do w/ camber correction on our cars. Cars like mustangs, evo's, wrx's have camber correction built into the pillow ball mounts. Our suspension just isnt setup the same way.

They're there mostly for aid in installation (no swapping hats) and for better handling - alum vs. rubber - less travel, better response, etc. Your ball joints and other suspension pieces are what are used to correct camber, caster, toe, etc.

I've set the deadline for the first order to August 17th. If you want to order after that, that's fine as long as it's within a reasonable time frame.
