2001 Accord Coupe V6

I'm looking at either putting a manual transmission into my accord and then eventually turboing it or turbo a K20a3 and doing a complete swap.

I know both will have a high price tag but I need a project for school. Would I benefit with a turbo'd J30? Or the K20?

Which one will be the better route??? I'm not looking for 400+ hp.

Definitely do the J30 turbo. You get 2 more cylinders, an extra liter of displacement, so much more torque, it's going to be less of a pain and cheaper...
I really don't see any way the k20 would be a better choice, other than you'll save a little more gas. But even then, after spending all that money and trouble getting a 4 cylinder to fit in a v6 bay, I don't think the slightly better fuel milage will be worth it.

The K-swap has never been completed (based on Dre's info) on a 4-cylinder chassis, nevermind a V6.

Stick with the J30, or better yet source a J32.

Have faith.......:jae:

OP, I am going to assume you aren't really familiar with either build, because you wouldn't have asked if you were.

You should do some more research about the swaps before you do anything else.

Check out j32a.com and v6performance.net for starters.

I've done some research on both swaps. It's hard locating a tranny that would fit my j30 or even the j32. I know it would be harder to do the k20 swap but its easier finding a tranny for it. I'd like to buy a j32 so I can do most of the work without losing my daily driver.

Check those websites I mentioned, especially on j32a.com, there are engines/tranny's/complete builds available quite often.
