Jdm honda remote 4 button flip key fob

I'm gonna be getting a new key soon, my primary one cracked, so i'm using my secondary key. I was thinking of trying this key since it's so cheap. suggestions? input? I'm hoping its not a flimsy piece of plastic that's gonna break when i torque it in the ignition to start the car time and time again. anyone ever try this? or something similar?

I like it. But our keys are chipped. So my question is, if one's car has an o.e. security system, how is the chip incorporated into that key /fob?

Like Ghost states I think the immobilizer will keep you from using the flip out key to start the car. You might be able to use the remote portion but I think you'll still have to use the OEM style of key for the ignition.

I started looking around after reading this again. Apparently you can buy the chips serperately. I would think that if it is small enough you could attach it to the inside of the flip key housing and the have it programed just the same. Not sure how to get the correct transponder chip though.

easier to just leave the key and fob alone, but I recommend you buy a spare key w/transponder if you are going to attempt to open your key to swap the transponder over, just incase it doesnt work..

Thanks for all the great informative replies. This idea I am now convinced best left alone unless you are extremely bored and have plenty of money laying around. I also feel the reliability would not be there. Thanks again 6th gen family.

I actually bought this a while back and everything works and looks great, except that the key is just metal and there is no chip to program, so it works as a fancy spare but besides that not really worth it
