the rod that the knob screws onto adjusts height only. the other rod that sits in the sifter assembly is the one that adjusts the throw. obviously, the lower its set, the shorter your throw will be, and visa versa.

according to the pick the higher you put shaft connected to the shifter the shorter your throw. and obviously the height is controlled by lowering the shaft connected to the knob, however on the jtc s.s. there are 2 positions where you can connect the shifter linkage. one which is higher and one which is lower. i was wondering if he could get the linkage to that top position. i tried but it seemed as if i were forcing it to much. i wanna see his setup.
how i have it set up. linkage bottom hole. knob to lowest setting. for the throw i dont have both bolts in a hole. i put my bottom bolt on the highest hole to eliminate as much throw as possible. so right now my upper bolt is not in a hole.

my bad, i guess i had the throw adjustments confused...its been so long since ive adjusted my pspec haha. as for not having both set screws in, id say thats a bad idea. theres two screws there to keep it holding tight, one screw is too risky id say, it could easily come loose over time. theres two holes there for a reason anyway, if you didnt need them both im sure thered be only one.

as for the cable attachment, the higher up its mounted should shorten the throw. i know mikeymike made his oem shifter into a short shifter by cutting the shifter down itself, and then cutting the oem mount off and welding it on higher up on the shifter. i wouldnt use the higher mount, that you mentioned, if it really felt like you had to force it too much to work.

So i'm having issues, do I need to take the whole center console out? and also does this whole "bucket" assembly have to come out?

I gotta find the pspec install, I can't get this stupid ball out of the assembly. I can see tabs, but can't undo em.
