My SRS had been on for like the past 3 or 4 years. I was supposed to take it back to the dealer for the recall to replace the driver seat belt buckle for free, as they said a sensor in there was malfunctioning or whatever, but I never did. And a month ago, it just went away. But I'm just thinking the light just burned out from being on for so long lol.

I was actually going to try and pull my SRS code before Honda told me for sure it was the seat buckle. I tried resetting the light before heading to the dealership; and it came back on, thus prompting me to go.

Here is the thread I got the idea from- http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=636707

So yeah two free trips to the dealership in total for me. And yes they will always recommend services to be done - that's where the initial inspection charge comes from. If your work is covered under warrenty they'll void the charge.

They did that to me when i took my accord in for SRS light. i'd check it yourself and make sure what they said is accurate. or have a trusted mechanic look it over. this is the reason i dont like dealerships

I've had it reset before too but it would come back on within a few days. So free new buckle, why not.

So apparently my post disappeared, but I rebuilt my motor and purchased a used transmission for less than all that. But, those prices are normal for dealership work.

At least they are fixing my srs light for free, they told me it was the drivers seat belt. I was wondering if anyone knows of any engines that are for sale that have decent mileage in Tampa ?

Same here. They've replaced both the passengers and drivers seat buckle. Replacing the drivers side seat buckle seemed to have worked this time.

They don't call it the Stealership for nothing.

Prices do sound normal for a dealership though, try to find the parts somewhere else and either do it yourself or take it to a reputable shop.
