to the OP... if you cant find a cheap deal on a new transmission, consider doing the work yourself. yes, it wont be warranty covered, but still, it will save a lot of money. im pretty sure that if you shop around for a bit, you can find a price thats a bit better than that for the transmission to at least be rebuilt. however, personally, if thats how much it was gonna cost me, and i really had no other options, and i really loved the car, id just go with it. ive paid many thousands of dollars for stuff that could have been done for less, but still, the peace of mind is worth the extra money it would cost you.

Well the prob was that i needed it back right away, since i had no ride to work. My bill was about 1800.00, but i was just happy to have it back and running since i had the money for it. I fully expect this thing to last forever now!

Anywho, first thing i did was 20% tint all around. Dont want to mod it too much, but i do think the back bumper sits way too high so i might search around here to see what my options are. Thanks for all the help and info everyone!

BTW, ur manual should have been "bullet" proof. The automatic 98-2002 v6 and I4 have MAJOR problems and defects. Class action lawsuit. Mine died at 111,875miles. Ur lucky ur manual, there are a lot of members on here who did a 5 speed conversion, including myself, just so they don't have to deal with transmission issues again in the future.

Provided u know how to shift without grinding gears, your tranny should last you a very long time. :D

These cars can be fun if put on some decent basic bolt ons. Not huge gains but ur car will be more spirited than before.
