Welcome to the site.

Pretty sound reasoning in here so far, except the $2900 figure, that’s low. Definitely a deal, but I wouldn’t expect to see a car like what you’re looking at go that low. I don’t think I’d pay over $6k for the car you are looking at, and I'd even have a hard time paying that, especially with it being a 4cyl.

When I bought mine, it had 74k miles, great condition inside and out, and everything worked. I paid $8250, but that was in 2007.

I think alot of people in the beginning of this thread thought it was 116k miles but it is actually 72K which is not bad.

I got mine a little over a year ago w/ 75K for 8k

http://www.kbb.com/honda/accord/200...4|true&path=&vehicleid=6256&mileage=71#survey

When I checked Kelly blue book just know, in columbus ohio a 2000 accord 2.3l with the loaded interior and 72k miles came in the price range of 9k-10+k

so idk

Yeah, that's rediculous. For a grand more you could pick up an s2k, 7g or TSX/TL.

Yeah, I looked at that as well. I don't think KBB is a good indicator of what people are actually paying for cars though.

I looked at asking prices in some other regions in Canada for 6th gen accords. Many are in the $4000-$5000 range, though with a lot more kms in most cases. There are quite a few listed in the $6-$7k range though. Another factor may be differences in expectations between Canadians and Americans when it comes to used cars. I mean, Canadians pay more for pretty much everything.

KBB gives approx. values higher than what I usually see for private party/CL postings, I typically subtract about 15-20% from that for my cap. Might be worth a trip to the nearest major city if you can find anything there though.

Ultimately, it's up to you to decide how much this car is worth in your eyes. Cars have a subjective value too, some people are willing to pay more for a particular car than someone else, just depends. So take what we're saying as input, but you should make your own informed decision.

I recently bought a new Accord (montreal, Canada)

- Very good interior and exterior. Not perfect.
- No mecanical problem
- little suspension noise

2001 coupe EX, I4, 5spd, moonroof, no heated seats, no leather, 134k km/80k miles. Pictures are accessible through my sig.

I paid 5k for it. It was expensive, but it was the best one. All others had either a lot of mileage or bad exterior/interior. I personally would pay no more than 6k for that 6th Gen. The little I'd gain is just not worth 2k more than my car.

Since you are in Canada, you hav to keep in mind that thee car is going to be priced higher than any US equivalent.

That be said, the asking price is a bit high, and I would suggest going in at about $1500(approx.) less. Especially if you are paying cash.

Also, make your offer after going to your mechanic to get it fully checked out, pending the report of your mechanic.

If he is a bit hesitant at your offer, remind him that because of the inconsistent maintanence records, and what your mechanic said, that is the best you can do.

I would also suggest you look up similar year Accords on Auto Trader and see what they are going for.
