Loss of power

98 LX Sedan 5 Speed

When I have it in neutral and rev the RPMs up they fall really low almost stalling the car. Also when im going up a hill or give it gas in the low RPM range it has no power and is kind of sputtering.

Engine code was something along the lines of the distributor if i remember correctly (Was a couple months ago when i checked, have not been driving the car, lol)

Could this be my issue? And would it just be the cap or would I have to do the rotor too? Maybe even plugs?

sounds like whats happening to my car by mine is not giving me a cel light

So I checked the CEL and it flashed 9 times, all quick blinks, no slow, just repeats the set of 9 flashes.

Not sure if I looked it up correctly but is it the Cylinder Position Sensor?

Just did some reading around and from what I see its the distributor that has the sensors in it? So it could be a loose connection somewhere or a bad distributor? Anyone else throw this code?
