low fuel indicator

greetings, newbie here.

i had the unfortunate experience of running out of gas last night. spent and hour and a half sitting in my car in a rainstorm waiting for a tow truck that never arrived. eventually walked to a gas station, purchased a gas can and resolved the situation.

my question: i thought there was an indicator icon to let you know when you were down to the reserve level. while i was waiting i looked it up in the manual. mine never lit up. is this a random thing or have others experienced it? if so, what's the solution? thanks

ps: the car is an '01 accord ex v6 coupe.

I have a 99 sedan 4cyl and mine works. Usually comes on when there is 10-12L left in the tank. Maybe your bulb is burnt for that indicator.

We've had the car since it had 7k miles, it has 113k right now.. the gas light has NEVER lit up. lol

If its not the bulb, its the sending unit

Highly doubt it's the bulb... mine used to work when I first owned my car now it never does, swapped bulb with a known working one and still never lit up.

have had my car for 70K now and it has only lit up once... lol..
