Low fuel light not working?

Yes we do have fuel filters. There's something strange about them, though, something like they can't be replaced individually? Someone who knows more about that should help me out here. lol

I knew about the fuel pump being self lubricated by having anything over, what is it a quarter of a tank? I just always fill up at a quarter to be safe.
I didn't know it got the fuel system dirty also. Why is that?

And like I said, I rarely, like honestly maybe once every 3 months let it get close to E, but I just wanna see that light for the first time in over 3 years I've owned a CG. haha

The answer this is...

I think he's talking about all the sediments that fall down tobthe bottom of the gas tank. once your gas gets down low, it starts pulling gas from the bottom of the tank, which in turn pulls the debris and sediments that have rested there; so the myth goes. I've heard that story, and on the other hand I've heard that, that's what the fuel filter is for. I don't think debris can travel to the injectors, but who knows. sounds like a job for Adam and Jaime.

... is this. Also the fuel pump has a sock if you will, which acts like a filter. I'm pretty sure it's the only filter in the fuel system and not some kind of "pre-filter". Even the tiniest of debris can build up in the fuel system with time. Filters don't necessarily filter 100% but they do get most of the debris. The contamination of the fuel system happens slowly, it doesn't happen all at once.

The fuel filter is on the fuel pump .. It's the white bag looking thing. They're considered "Non serviceable" because they're built into the fuel filter and it goes into the gas tank, whereas normal fuel filters are external, and are somewhere in the middle of the fuel line, if I'm not mistaken.

I suppose you're correct, but it'd be extremely hard getting past the filter on the pump AND the "media filter" that's built into our gas tanks. And I think the filter looks more like a bag than a sock

Well I call it a sock okay lol. I have an extra gas tank sitting around, I'll take a look inside. It's not built into the pump, it comes off and can be replaced. I knows this because I had to remove mine and swap it over onto my walbro.

Yeah i didn't mean it was permanently attached. It comes off of the pump. My bad if I confused anyone.

because its not like a traditional fuel filter. the traditional sense o fuel filter is a can looking thing in the middle of the fuel line,usually located under the car

I relied on mine once (it had worked previously), and it bit me in the ***. Never again. That warning system is broken on a lot of CG's, just search gas light and you'll see a few threads.

And yeah it's usually not a good idea to let the tank get really really low.

My gas light is on at all times even if I have a full tank. Been like that since Ive had the car.
