Manual Transmisison Leaking

Anyone know if part #16 is a common seal to leak?

I've got a pretty good amount of transmission fluid in that general area and i've been trying to figure out where it'd be coming from...
If that would happen to be the leak location, would this be a difficult repair? from what i can tell it'd be pretty straight forward, but i've never taken apart the tranny and i'm not sure what to expect.

can you pin point exactly where the oil is leaking from? Go get some parts cleaner spray and spray it down really good and closely monitor it. I have not came across one to leak from #16....but stranger things have happend lol. try to pin point exactly where it is comming from.

It doesnt seem to be a hard seal to replace but once again, I have never taken that assembly apart.

I've been watching it. I find it hard to believe it's that seal because it's on the side of the of the assembly. Fluid is on top of the assembly, but i can't figure out where it would be coming from. It's been doin this for a couple months now (don't worry, ive put more fluid in lol) and i just can't seem to pinpoint the exact location.

That is a moving part, it does have a seal. I've seen a dis-assembly of the shifter spring box thing there on this site somewhere. I may be gone though, that was years ago, long before our second most recent server switch. That may have been even before you joined, but take a look.

Nah dude, I can't find anything about it. I tried a couple of different searches.

I forgot to mention in my post that some stuff disappeared when the switch happened. You'll have to take that piece apart and replace the oil seal. Try to find a service manual for the P2A8 transmission, surely the dis-assembly of that component will be there.

I've heard about the files that have dissapeared cause of the switch, so assumed that happened to this one also.
How likely is it that'd it'd be this seal? I can't figure out how the fluid gets up on top of the assembly from that seal(it's on the side of the assembly). And just so you know, This tranny is from a 93 Accord. dunno how much parts have changed and what not. just thought I'd throw that out there.

The gears inside of the tranny fling oil all over the place to make sure everything is lubed. If there is a lot of fluid it may not be from there. Like someone said above clean it till it shines the look every time you drive and figure it out. You may have to use a mirror and a flashlight.

This. Fluid shouldn't be leaking from there from from splatter, and if the fluid level is sitting that high up, the tranny is over-filled. Clean everything you can and check it frequently. I doubt it's even from your tranny. My guess would be from the distributor where it enters the head or possibly even valve cover.
