Levi - Get a lawyer. Edumacate yourself on how the system works.

x2

Hey Levi, I'm not a lawyer and probably noone else is on here. But I do know that there are more than a few problems that I see in these posts.

1. If you pay your ticket, then it can be taken as you agreeing that you were responsible for the accident...that means, you are saying that you are responsible for all the damages. Hold off on paying it for now, and consult your insurance agent. Tell them that you don't believe you are at fault; if they tell you to just pay the ticket so they can get you the money, blah, blah, blah, then you need to start looking for another company. Either way, after consulting the ins. agency, then consult a lawyer. The consultations are usually FREE and some insurance companies will get you a lawyer, so ask them when you talk to them
2. If you consult a lawyer (and are honest with them) and they believe that you have a case, then they won't charge you anything up front.
3. Ambulances aren't always run by the counties, cities, state, fire rescue, etc. Many of them are private companies. Yes, many of them are just delivery companies such as UPS & Fed-Ex, but they make deliveries just to hospitals.
4. The cop doesn't have the final word; he is not the judge nor jury. Cops usually have to make snap judgements while looking out for the better good of the situation. This is because if the ambulance driver gets a ticket, his career may be over. You, on the other hand, are young and can recover from a ticket...if that is what the cop was thinking, then I wouldn't blame him. But, if I were you, I would push it all the way to court, but then again, the ambulance company may just give you a ni$e little $ettlement just to get you to shut up....
5. More than likely, no one on here, not even me, knows the law as well as lawyers do, so consult a lawyer! BUT, DUDE! If that ambulance didn't slow down, put on their siren at an intersection, or turn around, then I would be sure that a lawyer would like to pick this case up in a heart beat. God forbid, what if someone was in the same situation as you, but had their hand or arm out the window? How did the ambulance driver know that they didn't just injure a newborn baby in your car?...just a small scratch on the ambulance? Does this mean that the cop is trying to downplay the acccident by saying that maybe they didn't "feel" or "see" that they hit you? If so, I am sure that a jury would start questioning why the cop isn't putting an end to the fact that there is group of people flying around your town in a 12,000 truck who are so unaware of the actions that they hit someone and not one of them in the truck even noticed!

idk, i know what everyone is trying to tell me but i just cant do it because i'm moving in 2 weeks back out of town for college again and i need the car fixed n' everything right before i do that. i really would if i wasnt going anywhere, but now im running out of time and just need to fix her up.

my friend runs a body shop and is gonna hook me up by talking to the insurance for estimates by working for not too much and having more money in my pocket, that way i can use that to pay off the car quicker.

but yeah...looking to do a coupe bumper 'n cf hood, and everything else how it was, plus i REALLY hope they still carry that rim i have :ownedrun:

Yeah, I totalled my truck the week prior to my exams...and in the middle of me moving! I was on my way to my storage unit to move into my new place. Talk about unneeded stress...by the way, if you talk to the insurance company about it not being your fault, then what they will probably do is: give you the money to fix your car, and then turn around and sue the ambulance company'ss insurance for all the money that they paid to have your car fixed. That's what they did in my accident. And in the end none of it went onto my insurance record. Just talk to your agent about it, but don't incriminate yourself; I'm still not convinced that you really were at fault.

My insurance company gave me a rental and it everything else went smoothly. All that needed to be replaced was the bumper, hood, fender, wheel/tire and grill,(the rest of the body was straight, paint was good, and the truck ran perfect!) but they totalled it and cut me a check for a LOT more than I paid for it. But in person, the truck didn't really look totalled.

Then I turned around and bought this with the check. '98 LX with only 92,000 miles, meticulously kept!
