thanks ppl for the support. i doubt i could afford a lawyer, im only a college student with LITTLE money.

im just going to pay the citation and have the guy from my insurance come quote me how much my damage is worth so i can get a check. But from what the cop told me, there was like a little scratch on the ambulance since my car hit the back of it, and the guy told me that it didnt matter if it had the siren on or not, the lights were "good enough." i call bull**** on that.

i thot lawyers take money off of your settlement on percentage basis...? and if you dont win the case, lawyer dont take n e money....

thats how it was with my lawyer when i got into accident....took 30% of my settlement, then medical fee pretty much took most of my money....i was left with a bit less than 10k.......

Just lights are sufficient on a freeway? How fast was that ambulance estimated going? They aren't above the law. They do have a speed limit they must abide by.

Just get a free consultation from a law office. See what they have to say and what kind of money you would be looking at. If it's sufficient enough to cover the damages to your car & legal fees, I would do it. The bad thing about going through insurance is this is considered a fault accident so it will more than likely raise your premium.
