600's are hard to handle when your a beginner[/QUOTE]

My first street bike was an 88 Ninja 250. I had a turbo 91 civic and the 250 would dominate it to 100mph. Bikes are just on a totally different level.

Vague estimations....
The 08 1krr is 590;bs with me on it, 178hp. 3.3lbs/hp
My 3450lb accord sedan would need 1045hp to keep up.

"there are two types of riders, those who've gone down and those who haven't gone down yet"

personally i'm buying and older bike that if i drop and damage i can easily afford to replace. also look into crash pegs, they protect your bike and your if you have to lay it down. it bolts into the side of the engine compartment and it saved my buddie an easy 3 grand in parts when he had to lay his down getting on the highway. it also leaves you room for your leg so it doesn't get crushed during the lay-down.

I start out with my bro 600 CBR and never have any problem to keep the front wheel down, in his 1000RR it kinda hard for me to keep the front wheel down even in third gear lol. Nice 250 lol the new Ninja 250 look bad ***, I had seen it at motocycle international show in NYC in Jan lol.

yeah for a 250 it doesnt look like one

wow a 600 for a first bike? impressive... i wanted to start on a gsxr 600 or 750 but it was a bit to heavy for me.

but now.. the R1 is for me :D

What do you guys recommend for a starter bike? Not a 250...one of my friends has one and it looks like a toy.

^^^ Well you just remind me of my buddy at work, when he just know how to ride the bike and his wife got a 250. He was telling me that was too weak for him, so my bro like k I will let you test ride my 600 out to see how it feel first then he took for a test ride. He come back about 15 mins later with a broken foot peg and some road rash. So my suggestion for you if you like to lay down very good like him or me then go ahead if you scare then get the 250. btw you can get the 500 Ninja it not too strong as the 600 but better then the 250.

Is it an 08 250? They are new.

Buying a bike cause of how it looks is a really bad reason. Maybe he will let you take his for a ride, the 250 is pretty decent.
